We had the pleasure of shooting vōx almost three years ago when we first launched Stoned Fox and it’s been nothing short of sweet to watch this flower blossom. ( view the original story here )
Through her pain, she has brought a sense of self-purpose, self-love, and unapologetic truth to her self-expression. Growing up in a small quiet town in Minnesota with a family and community that was “unable to express love for themselves or each other”. She latched onto religion at a young age as a way to feel purpose and something bigger than the world she was forced to live in. Through this lens, her sexuality and nudity became warped, shameful, and taboo. Her true form was an enemy of the male gaze, and what followed was years of sexual trauma and positions where she was meant to be kept small.
At the very core of the project is the innate and complete expression and freedom to love who you love, and to meet the alter-ego named vōx who found divine power in her naked form.

At the very core of the project is the innate and complete expression and freedom to love who you love, and to meet the alter-ego named vōx who found divine power in her naked form. She wasn’t naked for anyone but herself. She discovered that this is why religion, men, and society had worked so hard to keep her small. The power, when realized, is infinite. This Body, vōx EP that came out on Sept 17, is an exploration of this reclamation. With vulnerable lyrics delicately woven into a big production, she explores “why” about being kept small, how to make sense of her lineage, and questions how to be worthy of the love she knows she deserves.
‘This Body’ is one of the songs on the EP that embodies exactly what I wanted to portray overall. It’s perfectly distilled by the chorus lyrics which read, “You were not here first. I was.” In my body, I come first. It’s about ownership, boundaries, and self-care.
